This 12 day program will let you enjoy the biodiversity of Costa Rica. You will be able to see Bats, Birds, as well the other biodiversity and the scenic beauty of this wonderful country. A great opportunity to see the nesting of the Green Sea Turtles on the Caribbean, and the Humpback Whales on the Pacific.

• Try for South America’s “Big Five” Brazilian Tapir, Maned Wolf, Giant Anteater, Giant Otter, and Jaguar
• Witness the “Big Five” of birds: Red Legged Seriema, Greater Rhea, Hyacinth Macaw, Toco Toucan, and Helmeted Manakin. Add Southern Screamer, Sunbittern, Scarlet- headed Blackbird, and so many more!
• Explore both sides of the Transpantaneira wilderness by boat and road on safari-like excursions
• Find five species of kingfisher
• Enjoy local cuisine and hospitality at fazendas (working cattle ranches) at several stages along the road
• Boat the Cuiabá River for an excellent chance at a Jaguar sighting
• See water birds in mass congregation — like those of the Everglades, but magnified!
• Find at least four species of monkeys and several hundred species of birds
• Scan for night birds under intense southern sky constellations; spotlight for mammals, too!

Day 1.
Transfer to Bougainvillea Hotel. Shuttle included. Dinner (not included). Overnight at Bougainvillea Hotel.
Day 2.
Early pick up and travel to Guápiles, on the Caribbean region. Breakfast at Guápiles and continue to La Pavona. Boat trip to Tortuguero. Check in at Jungle Lodge. Late Lunch. Free afternoon to explore the gardens and Tortuguero town. Dinner at Laguna Lodge. Overnight at Laguna Lodge or similar (B, L, D)
Day 3.
Early birding on grounds. Breakfast Visit Tortuguero National Park. Trip on the canals. Lunch at Jungle Lodge. Afternoon visit the Turtle Conservation Museum. Dinner at Laguna Lodge. Night tour at the beach. Turtle nesting. Overnight at Laguna Lodge (B, L, D)
Day 4.
Breakfast. Travel by boat to La Pavona. Lunch in Guápiles and continue to La Fortuna. Check in at Kokoro. Time to enjoy the Hotsprings at hotel. Dinner at Kokoro Hotel. Overnight at Kokoro Hotel.
Day 5.
Breakfast. Visit Observatory Point, hike on the base of Arenal Volcano, a place full of wildlife. Lunch at Observatory Lodge. Rainforest Chocolate Tour. A great experience about sustainability and the pleasure to enjoy chocolate. Visit the Hot Springs, time to relax and enjoy. Dinner at Paradise Hotsprings. Overnight at Kokoro Lodge (B, L, D)
Day 6.
Birding on grounds. Breakfast. Zip Lines at Ecoglide, a fun way to explore the rainforest! Lunch at La Fortuna, time to explore the town, and look for the best Ice Creams! Pineapple Tour. Learn about the impacts of this activity, enjoying the best pineapple, and why not a good Piña Colada! Night wings Project, learn about the wonderful world of Bats, through this scientific program. Day 7.
Breakfast and depart to Central Pacific. On the way Safari Crocodile Tour at Tárcoles river. Lunch at Tárcoles area. Check in at Vista Ballena at Uvita area. Dinner and overnight at Vista Ballena. (B, L, D)
Day 8.
Birding on grounds. Breakfast and travel to Uvita town. Whale watching tour at Marino Ballena National Park, Lunch at Uvita town. Back to hotel, and free afternoon at the beach. Dinner at Uvita. Overnight at Vista Ballena. (B, L, D)
Day 9.
Breakfast. Depart to San Gerardo de Dota. Lunch on the way. Visit Los Quetzales National Park. Check in at Savegre Hotel in San Gerardo de Dota. Afternoon walk to the Savegre river waterfall. Dinner and overnight at Savegre (B, L, D)
Day 10.
Early birding looking for the great Quetzal. Breakfast. Walk to the majestic Oak Forest at Savegre Reserve. Lunch. Optional Horseback riding. (not included). Dinner and overnight at Hotel Savegre. (B, L, D)
Day 11.
Early visit to Batsu Garden. Great Hummingbird Feeders. Breakfast. 10:00 am. Return to San Jose. Lunch on the way. Check in at Bougainvillea Hotel. Farewell Dinner. Overnight at Bougainvillea. (B, L, D)
